Some Chocolate Redemption

About a week ago a friend and I made a "cake" and here is the link to her blog http://merrigankids.blogspot.ca/

Well after the cake incident I decided I needed to regain some lost dignity so I baked and frosted a super chocolate cake, I'm talking chocolate cake with chocolate chips and chocolate frosting!  Well it tasted crazy and awesome but my brother reported feeling sick after eating and I had a strange reaction almost as though I was allergic to chocolate and I was devastated but after questioning some of the other people who also ate the cake it turned out nobody else had any bad reaction to the cake.  So yesterday me and Fin returned to brave another slice and everyone was fine!  Still after the original report of unhappiness with the cake I was almost ready to vow to never bake again, now I think I might just take a brake on the chocolate for a little while.

I'm so relieved that my cake did not cause illness!

And after a little chocolate detox I was able to return with caution of course the crazy goodness that is chocolate.

A Walk on the Beach

Today after supper my friend and I went for a lovely walk on the beach in Gillams, yielding some sea glass.

While it is mostly run of the mill clear sea glass I did manage to find some lovely ceramic and blue pieces.

I'm especially happy about the big chunk.

These two green and white ones might be familiar to some of my Newfoundland readers, or maybe just my dad.  This green and white ceramic shows up on the beach so often my family has nearly put together a whole plate.

And to finish the post a picture of my cat.

Father's Day and Brownies

Today was Father's Day and my father is amazing and annoying and the best I could ask for.  Because of my odd life I am not spending Father's Day in NYC with my dad as much as I wish I could teleport I can not.   Because I live in Newfoundland I have been privileged enough to meet some incredible people, among those was Colette who I can't remember not knowing.  I don't know what the world will be like without her but I am happy to have known her.
I made brownies today from a recipe I've been meaning to try for a while now and they were good.

Cupcakes and a Movie Studio

Today I made vanilla yogurt cupcakes with chocolate frosting!  And they were pretty good.
Pre frosting, my mom in her typical anti frosting ways suggested that they would taste better without any frosting, sorry mom.
Here is the chocolate frosting.
And this is the finished product, its not much to look at, but they still tasted good.

Now last post I meant to include a link to a blog me and my brother started a few years ago to put our movie trailers on.  We haven't done much with it but because all the movies we made were way to long the trailers are better.
It has been a while since there has been a new post but I did just get a new camera so there might be some new films soon.

The Paper Blog

Before the term blog was explained to me I had a paper blog, a collection of random notes and thoughts taped to my door.  That paper blog is actually very similar to this blog but I thought it would be easier to keep up something I saw on my door everyday, I was wrong and it also didn't help that no one read it, literally no one because it was on my bedroom door.  Now I have moved to the internet I enjoy blogging more.

I have also been drinking a lot more tea than usual and I have rediscovered the little bathtub plate for tea bags.
And once again I was was young when I started the paper blog.
